I just was reading a post on a blog, and she had mentioned some things that really got me thinking. I realize that everyday I ask myself when will this day end? I really should not be doing that. I know some days are extremely hard and lately I have been feeling like nothing good is happening. I feel like I wish the days away just cause they arent going good, or my kids are being naughty, or they dont feel good. I am always saying to myself, If I can just get through the day. But really my kids are only young once they do something new and learn something new everyday. They are both growing like weeds. Hallie doesnt even like to be snuggled unless she is hurt or sick. And Tracen doesnt like to snuggle either. My babies are growing up and I need to enjoy every second of everyday with them. Because they will be grown and moved away before I know it. I need to not worry about getting the mess they just made cleaned up before I get to enjoy the mess with them. I find myself alot of times when Hallie asks me to play saying , "In a minute I am busy." I need to just take a minute sometimes and enjoy the fact that they want me to play with them. And actually once I get playing its kind of fun.
We went to a farewell today and afterwards at the luncheon I was feeding Tracen on my lap and Hallie was sitting next to me and they were both fighting over a fork and they were screaming and just being naughty. I got this look on my face like I was going to be freak out on both of them right there and the guy sitting across from my told me to just try and enjoy it even though it is hard, he also said we will laugh about it someday. So I guess all I am saying is I think I need to calm down and stop worrying about stupid stuff and put more of my energy into my kids. They mean the world to me and I have no idea what I would do without them. I love you Hallie and Big T.

it's so easy for someone who's been through child rearing to give you that advice. But they do forget how dang hard it is. I try to stay busy during the day. And when they are being bad I have to count to about 50 or go into my room for a minute or put them in their room and lock the door, For Their Own Safety! Some days are definitely better than others. Hang in there, you know you'll get through this.
I think this is the hardest time in our lives when we have little kids. I struggle everyday with feelings of guilt because I either don't spend enough time with my kids, or my housework doesn't get done. I guess we just do what we can and pray that the kids turn out ok.
You sound like me Chels! It's much easier said than done to cherish the little moments with you kids when they are making you crazy! I'm no person to give advice but I think the most important thing is that Hallie and Tracen know you love them to pieces and doing your best is good enough:)
Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves as moms and feel guilty about everything. I agree with Megan though--just letting them know we love them matters the most!
You just said exactly what the rest of us feel. It is really hard to feel like you are giving everything and everyone the amount of time that they deserve. But, I agree that as long as they know that they are loved and that they have a safe place to come to at the end of the day......well, we have done our best.
The older they get, kind of the easier it gets. Just a different kind of hard. Wyatt is in a whole new stage of life where it is enjoyable and fun running him to football or basketball. The small fries are still crazy, not everyone will agree, but it has gotten easier. Either that or I have just gotten laid back. If there is no blood, you are fine!! Either way - hang in there. We can all do it together!
You are so right. I do think we all need a reminder sometimes. It is just nice to know that other people struggle with the same things as me.
Hey what's your email? I'm going to go private so I need to get everyone's email!!!
