What A Day!

So today so far has been quite the day and its only half over. So this morning I was cooking breakfast (which i very rarely do but my niece spent the night so I felt I should feed her something) and I was doing such a good job and then Brandt felt he should step in and it was a nice thing for him to do but I thought he was still going to keep an eye on Tracen. (I thought wrong) Tracen has started to crawl and he goes everywhere and is into everything. So while the two of us were cooking, I heard this cry from him and it wasnt a PICK ME UP cry it was a HELP ME cry I could not go and get him very fast because I had raw sausage on my hands so I sent Brandt to find him. Well he had fallen all the way down the stairs and was at the bottom looking up at him with this look on his face like Umm I fell down the stairs and I cant get back up. He wasnt even crying that hard that is why I didn't rush to get him. He was not hurt at all. Just mad because he could not get back up. Now I am not a bad mother that has only happened once. So in a couple of hours we are going to get a gate. The next thing that has happened is Brandt and I were outside with both the kids ( no I did not leave Tracen again) and we were putting up the dogs new pen. (Oh by the way anyone that wants a dog can come and get her) its the one that has the chain link panels and Hallie was trying to help and pulled the panel with the gate over on top of her head, it knocked her to the ground and was laying right on top of her. She screamed so hard she stopped breathing ( for those of you who know Hallie she does that often when she is mad or hurt she will just stop breathing she goes blue and we have to blow in her face to try and get her to breath again. The sad thing is that when she does it if she is mad it just makes me madder) But anyways we got her to breathe again and she was okay just a small bump. I thing what may have scared her the most was her dads reaction. It scared him pretty bad.

Hey Chelsea don't fell bad by the time my daughter Dillan was 2 she had had 2 broken arms(not even the same arm). Your kids are so cute I haven't seen them forever hope you don't mind me looking at your blog.

That is the worse feeling when you realize that your child has fallen down the stairs. Make sure the gate you buy has straight slats instead of the crisscrossed ones. Daxton climbed up and did a front flip down the stairs. Leave it to the boys to do crazy things like that.

Yes, what a day! Don't feel bad though. It's amazing how durable children are! Jack fell off the curb the other day and bonked his head. I felt so bad, but he didn't even cry. What an adventure it is to be a parent :)

Holy cow--sounds like quite the day. Bryce fell down the stairs backwards once. It scared the crap out of me and Trever chased him all the way down, but just couldn't get to him. Where does Hallie take dance class? Kira is still a little too young, but she just loves to dance.

Oh Chels! I hate it when things like that happen to your kids. Makell used to hold her breath until she would pass out too..it is scary. She hasn't done it for quite a while, she might be "out-growing it". Let's hope so! It looks like Hallie is loving dance lessons! What a cutie!

Chels,
No fear! I think every mom you will talk to has a story like that. I would have to start a small novel of all the things that have happened around here. Kids definitely are resilient, and not too much gets them down. Hang in there, it gets better, and they do grow out of that "stage". Call if you need any stories to make you feel better, I tell every mom, that if you think you are not doing a good job, call me, and we will compare - I usually win! :)
